LEADERSHIP APPLICATION
The mission of Leadership Redondo is to develop
effective community leaders who will strengthen and
transform the community.
Program goals of Leadership Redondo motivate
participants to develop a sense of community
trusteeship. Graduates are encouraged to assume
leadership roles in the community upon completion of
the course. Each class provides an awareness of a
segment of the Redondo Beach community - its problems,
challenges, and opportunities, and examines the major
systems and their interrelationship that contribute to
patterns of life in the city.
Community
trusteeship, leadership styles, and skills are
integral parts of the program. Class sessions provide
opportunities for communication among emerging and
established leaders. Participants explore the dynamics
of leadership and identify and enhance their
leadership styles with an emphasis on community
perspective.
The program requires a commitment of one full day per
month. The sessions provide participants with a sense
of the politics, government education, history,
healthcare, environment, and volunteer influences
within the city.
Each class is limited to 20 participants. Selection of
participants is based on set criteria. A committee
consisting of members of the Alumni reviews
